Assistant Finance Manager - Real Estate
Our client is a well established and successful commercial, mixed use and residential developer. They have a strong pipeline of work across the UK and are well funded by Far Eastern investors. They are re-structuring their finance team because of the strong demand that they have both in the buy-to-sell and build-to-rent (PRS) markets. As a result, their new Finance Director wishes to recruit an Assistant Finance Director to add strength to the Projects Finance team.
The Main Responsibilities will be:
The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for assisting the Projects Finance team with financial reporting for the schemes that they are allocated and look after.
This will include monthly updates of financial appraisal models and preparing variance analysis compared to previous forecasts for specific areas of the appraisal such as build spend, sales and marketing expenditure etc.
The candidate should be capable of extracting data from finance systems in a quick and efficient manner and be used to producing reporting that can be replicated month on month and from scheme to scheme so that time can be spent efficiently reviewing data rather than collecting it.
The candidate will also assist in populating standard monthly reports for the schemes and writing variance analysis.
The company has recently moved to a new Finance system and there are some processes (raising and approving PO’s) which have changed that users need help with understanding.
This role will be a go to person within the Projects Finance team for helping to unblock some of the issues and liaise with the system implementation team to make improvements to the processes and therefore eliminating confusion and inefficiencies and ensuring payments can be made on time.
The candidate will also be heavily involved with future phases of the system implementation and making sure the solution we are developing is fit for purpose.
The Successful candidate will be:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Will have begin their career in practice and have a background in audit or tax.
Have a background in real estate and ideally have 1-3 years’ experience outside practice, in a real estate private equity or development business.
