Elevation Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering on an exclusive basis with a family owned leisure business based in York to recruit an experienced Finance Manager into their team on a temporary basis. This is an urgent requirement with the successful candidate requiring an immediate start, and could be made a permanent role for the right candidate!
Initial priorities in this role will be to address issues within the sales ledger and ensure optimum use of newly implemented systems. This role requires a hands on approach and interested candidates must be able to work autonomously and have demonstrable problem solving experience - particularly around finance systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Control the company's day to day accounting & finance functions
* Purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash book and payroll
* Production of monthly management accounts
* Report and present profit & loss to the directors
* Assist with the production of future budgets/targets
* Work on Sage 200 accounting system
* Maintain and develop the accounting functions, processes and controls
* Responsible for aspects of HR - employment contracts, monthly payroll processing, pension reporting & HMRC submissions
Essential Skills / Experience:
* Must have experience in a SME environment in a hands on finance manager/company accountant role.
* Experience in using Sage (preferably Sage200 and Sage Payroll)
* Advanced Excel skills
* Must be at least AAT qualified or equivalent, qualified by experience also considered
* Good IT and communication skills
* Organised with good commercial acumen
