Financial Accountant - Worksop

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a market-leading national business to recruit a Financial Accountant, who will work within the Financial Controls team.

Whilst the head office for this business is located in Worksop, you will be able to work remotely and will only have to visit the office as and when there is a business need to do so.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who has trained in Practice and is now looking to make the move into Industry, or a 2nd time mover.

The main purpose of the role will be the preparation of statutory financial statements and financial statement disclosures, and ensuring that these comply with the appropriate GAAP guidelines and are prepared within the required timeframes.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

- Responsibility for the statutory accounts working files, consolidation file, consolidation journals and supporting workings, dealing with queries from the external auditors
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, working across departments and with external auditors to ensure financial information is prepared in a timely and accurate way
- Ensuring financial processes, controls and activities are in place
- Review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations ensuring the evidence is robust, and risks and opportunities are well understood and are clearly communicated
- Support with the interpretation of technical accounting rules to give guidance on financial transactions for the business
- Presentation of financial information to financial and non-financial colleagues
- Accounting for technical financial transactions including ownership of IFRS 16 Leases accounting
- Accountable for rebate recognition checking


Key Skills / Qualifications

- Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA)
- Experience working in an audit or financial accounting environment
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP
- Capability to implement change and identify improvements in processes and controls
- Strong communication skills
