Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a highly innovative AIM listed distribution business in Sheffield as they look to appoint a Group Accountant for their head office function.

The Group Accountant will contribute to the delivery of the consolidated financial and management accounts. Be responsible for the accounting of head office companies and actively support operating companies in all aspects of accounting and reporting. Contribute to the on-going development and improvement of the reporting processes. These responsibilities will be satisfied through a combination of business as usual and project activities.

The main duties will include: -

*Contribute to setting the direction of the Group's corporate strategy by providing support to the Head of Consolidation/Group Financial Controller in the provision of accurate and incisive monthly management account data and analysis to enable informed decisions to be taken
*Actively support processes to ensure accurate, complete and on time production and submission of all consolidated accounting data sets including actuals, forecasts and budgets
*Liaison with operating companies to ensure a timely and accurate close, and appropriate understanding and analysis of reporting entity submissions
*Contribute to timely and accurate posting of elimination and necessary consolidation adjustments
*Responsible for all aspects of accounting for head office companies including ownership of general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and involvement in more complex transactions
*Maintain accurate intercompany reconciliations for all head office companies and PLC, and be the main point of contact for intercompany queries across the Group.
*Drive efficiency improvements, formality and robustness through all Group reporting processes
*Work closely with the other Group Finance teams to provide support and analysis on overall consolidated results, working towards high quality outputs.
*Support the wider team's delivery requirements including ad hoc project work and initiatives as required

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

*Fully-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), 2+ years PQE, with a good technical background
*Experience in financial consolidation
*Hands-on knowledge of consolidation software a distinct advantage
*Excellent analytical skills and advanced excel skills
*Be articulate and able to present financial information clearly, confidently and concisely both verbally and in written reports
*Be able to plan and prioritise multiple tasks to meet challenging deadlines
*An understanding of the benefits of a strong process and controls culture
*Be confident, able to work independently and motivated to develop their abilities
*Be a good team player and able to form and develop strong relationships both within the Group and the European teams
*Flexible and adaptable with excellent ability to work cross functionally within an international organisation  
*Demonstrate good attention to detail and a hands-on approach 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong technical accounting expertise and consolidation experience, display sound judgment and integrity, be hands on and demonstrate good attention to detail.
