Axon Moore are working with a leading technology business who are looking for an interim Project Accountant to assist with a finance transformation program.
As Project Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting in delivering critical Finance Transformation projects, whilst ensuring the integrity of the accounting standards and system.
You will lead several high profile projects end to end from design phase through to implementation ensuring that change is sustained and embedded into finance operations. This includes assisting in project planning, following a proven project & change methodology, updating planning schedule, update risks & issues and tracking the completion of progress against milestones. Where applicable chairing the project stakeholder group update sessions.

You will have a sound knowledge of all the finance functions and have a strong background across Management Accounts and month end procedures to understand the project delivery’s needs and requirements.

Duties:
- Migration of newly acquired businesses onto the Group’s main accounting system (SAP Business One)
- Plan and execute legal entity migration onto SAP Business One
- Reconciling data and balances
- Migrating the data loads into target ERP
- Proficient in cleansing master data
- Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts during onboarding migration period
- Address historical data quality issues in key Financial statements before migration
- Development and upkeep of onboarding processes and documentation
- Supporting Mergers & Acquisitions team during the due diligence process
- Creation and maintenance of Finance reports including documentation of source, purpose and interpretation
- Leading and managing the UAT phase.
- Work with Finance Transformation to deliver other system led efficiencies within the finance functions in the UK and US
- Capturing and process mapping the current processes within the finance function.
- Perform the gap analysis between ‘As-Is’ process to the ‘To-Be’ SAP Business One design.
- Actively participate in delivering workaround for solutions not within the current system’s remit.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant experience in a similar project-based role, requiring skills as a finance business partner
- Experienced in designing and implementing processes
- Prove track record with using financial systems
- Advanced Excel
- Responsible to help deliver systems training across team and wider organisation
- SAP Business One and QuickBooks Online knowledge would be advantageous.
- Experience with data APIs
- Adept at working with systems and translating finance process to system process
