MRK are very pleased to be working exclusively with an organisation that has enjoyed rapid growth over the years based in Luton, Bedfordshire. Our client seeks a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified accountant to join them as a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

This job would suit a resilient individual who is able to work in an organisation that is undergoing change due to development and growth. They will be providing accurate and timely financial information throughout the group. The main purpose of this role is to act as a finance business partner within the business and jointly lead and manage the finance function.

This company is a nationwide business with more than 10,000 employees and a strong foothold in their market. They are continuously expanding and are constantly recognised for their excellent service.

The successful individual will be a qualified accountant and have knowledge of accounting systems and intermediate knowledge of Excel- Pivot Tables and V-lookups. They will ideally have experience of working in a similar role within a medium/ large company. Experience of leading a managing team is also desirable, in a business with a turnover of £50m plus.

Job responsibilities:

• Assist with preparation of statutory accounts for all Group companies and Group consolidation in accordance with financial reporting standards and best practice
• Corporation Tax Reporting and Tax Planning for Year End
• Working closely with business partners and being a key point of contact to Site & Operations managers during month and year end reporting periods
• Day to day management of credit control function
• Manage, prepare and review the Group Reporting function and monthly management accounts
• Responsible for the month-end process including preparation, posting and review of journals, completing all balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of monthly movements
• Responsible for accurate reporting of accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and other debtors and creditors
• Complete weekly and periodic management reports including detailed budget to actual variance analysis, Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
• Manage weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts ensuring the company's working capital are within agreed targets
• Develop the financial management systems and policies, to improve ways of working and increase efficiency
• Drive financial control and reporting to provide greater insight into the business thereby highlighting opportunities to increase profitability and increase margins across the Group
