A manufacturing business based in Malton, North Yorkshire, is currently looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join their busy shared services team.

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager, leading the wider team on a day to day basis, developing and supporting them within their roles in order to become as efficient as possible.

A competitive salary as well as 33 days holiday and opportunities for progression are on offer for the successful individual. Initially, this role will be initially offered as a 12 months fixed term contract but permanent opportunities could become available.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Finance Manager to manage and lead the teamDrive and support the team to achieve, measure and monitor performance using relevant KPI's, taking corrective steps as necessaryLead calls with sites and work to resolve root cause problems with IT and other functionsProvide first-class customer service and drive continuous improvementEnsure queries are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner to enable processes and payments are in accordance with all parties termsOversee accurate processing of payments in line with relevant policiesEnsure robust controls and processes are embedded in the team to produce accuracy and protect against fraudProvide cash forecasting to the treasury teamSupport implementation of acquired business functions into the teamDrive process improvements into the teams on behalf of the finance manager and group financial controllerDeveloping and maintaining your team's expertise in excel and new technologies to drive efficiency improvement

The successful Assistant Finance Manager will have previous experience in transactional accounts management and team management, other skills required include:

  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Ability to plan and delegate effectively
  • Proactive and demonstrates initiative
  • Previous experience implementing transactional ledgers through SAP
