Axon Moore are recruiting an exciting role for a well-established and growing business based in Kearsley. My client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. 
 
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the role will incorporate varied duties covering sales ledger, purchase ledger and general accounting duties. You will work alongside the wider accounts team to ensure accurate posting and recording of transactions. We are looking for someone who is keen to develop in the role and add value to the wider accounts team.
 
Duties:
  • Raising sales invoices and sending to clients as per company guidelines
  • Checking for and investigating discrepancies on invoices and posting in a timely manner
  • Cash allocation 
  • VAT posting 
  • Assisting with the management of insurance claims/paperwork, liaising with the Finance Director
  • Allocating payments 
  • Answering the phone and dealing with queries, directing them to the relevant person.  
  • Assisting with PL during busy periods such as month end
  • Reporting on credit risk to ensure the risk is managed effectively 
  • Other ad-hoc accounts admin duties as requested
Person requirement
  • Previous experience within and Accounts Assistant position  
  • Fully competent with MS Word, Excel and accounting systems 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong work ethic, able to manage deadlines and workloads effectively
  • Ability to work in a focused manner and deal with a high volume of transactions 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Committed to business success and supporting fellow employees
