Our client is a high-profile niche five-hotel group and is looking to recruit a FD due to the retirement of the incumbent.  The group is supported by a UK family office and is part of an extensive portfolio.  The trustees take a long-term view of their investments and focus on high quality market positioning , with a clear vision through a flat decision process. The trustees have committed to extensive investment to continue to develop and enhance the brand as well as raise the profile and the new FD will need to support this growth by ensuring there are robust systems, processes and controls throughout the operations as well as in the Finance function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overall stewardship of all finance related matters as well as the Finance function
  • Partnering the MD and Board with all strategic and commercial decision making
  • Reporting to all stakeholders and managing banking relationships
  • Managing relationships with auditors, insurers and other external parties
  • Oversee Compliance, health and safety and all CAPEX

Previous experience required:

Suitable candidates will have worked in the hospitality industry and will have spent time in a high growth business ideally with private ownership rather than purely large corporates.  This role is “hands on” but also strategic and the FD will be expected to have the gravitas and credibility to influence and lead within the business as well as liaise effectively with the family office. Empathy with the business profile and the understanding of the positioning of a niche product would also be useful.  Location is flexible and there will be the opportunity for some remote working but the hotels are South-West based and the successful candidate needs to be comfortable with this flexibility.

We are committed to encouraging and celebrating applicants from different backgrounds, whatever their gender, ethnicity, race, religious and political beliefs, education, socioeconomic background, disability, sexual orientation and geographical location to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
