Contract: Fixed Term (9 months)

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week

The Role

 

You will support the Finance Manager in all areas of financial management during a very exciting time of change and development for the team. You will be taking on some of the operational responsibilities to enable a general review of processes and efficiencies, whilst also using your experience to be involved with aspects of the review and provide support to inform the ultimate changes.

Your role will include ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring all income and liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reviewed. You will also take the lead on the financial planning and management for the Charity and two of the trading subsidiaries of the Charity - IStructE Ltd and Structural Engineers Registration Ltd.

 

You will be part of a team of six reporting to the Finance Manager. You should feel comfortable communicating with all employees across the Institution and trading subsidiaries and in particular, budget holders.

 

To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:

 

- Good A Level grades or equivalent.

- Fully qualified accountant, passed finalist or undertaking final stage examination (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)

- Strong understanding and working knowledge of accounts, creation of management accounts and reporting, as well as audit preparation

- Ability to lead on financial planning and management.

- Proven ability to build relationships with budget holders and strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting best practice.

- Strong understanding and working knowledge of accounting within the not-for-profit sector and/ or a commercial environment.
