Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit the MTC has a unique opportunity for a Assistant Project Management Accountant initially on a 6-month contract. The role is to ensure the timely submission of accurate grant claims and control of project costs. To liaise with Project Managers, external funders and external auditors to ensure the timely receipt of grant funding. To work with budget holders to ensure costs are managed, accurate budgets and forecasts are produced.

The Role
You will assist in the day-to-day duties of the finance department as directed by the Finance Manager.
The role of Assistant Project Management Accountant responsibilities will include:
Inputting journals to the business system and generating the relevant control reports.
Reviewing time and material inputs, generating weekly reports and investigating project variances.
Management of claims (Including Innovate and EU) on a monthly basis, liaison with Project Managers to ensure timely submission and coordinating project variations.
Working with Budget holders to ensure budgets and forecasts are completed and costs are controlled. Delivering reports on a monthly basis.
Submission and reporting of claims / Government grant costs and variances.
Managing the audit process of grant claims.
Support to cash planning and P&L forecasting processes.
The Person
The role of Assistant Project Management Accountant is suited to someone who enjoys routine, working to tight deadlines, and someone who enjoys communicating with finance and non-finance staff.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a level of autonomy with supervision required in more complex projects/tasks.
You will be part of a small team and be expected to support other team members.
The candidate is expected have a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
