In a fast-moving start-up environment, the Financial Accountant will assist the Financial Controller in day-to-day control procedures and maintenance of Sage200 with financial information. Having a can-do attitude and being a self-starter comfortable with working accurately at pace will be key attributes to success in the role.

On offer is exposure to an ambitious international “start-up", initially on a FTC maternity cover basis but with potential for a candidate that may be interested to grow as a permanent member of the Finance Team.

Responsibilities:

• Management of purchase and sales ledgers
• Responsible for processing invoices and expenses accurately and in a timely manner
• Reviewing all expenses for compliance with Company policy
• Supplier Management– reconciling statements, managing records, resolving discrepancies etc
• Ensure all accounts are accurately monitored and recorded
• Ownership of weekly Bank reconciliations
• Processing bank payments and cash monitoring
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
• Drive month-end accounting process – pre-payments, accruals & journals
• Provide ad-hoc information to the business including management information and budgets
• Provide supporting information for Management Accounts
• Completing VAT return forms
• Dealing with company payroll by processing wages and employee expense claims

Qualifications:

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Strong knowledge of accounting (debits & credits)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (SUMIF, VLOOKUP & PIVOT TABLE)
• Sage 200 experience is a plus but not essential
• Able to prioritise and maintain accuracy when processing invoices and expenses
• Have a proven track record in processing financial data
• Able to work independently
• Can work in a busy environment under pressure and meet deadlines
• Action oriented and a self-starter
• Demonstrated ability to have fun, and get things done
