Job Description
Michael Page are exclusively partnering with Profile Pensions as they look to welcome a new Group Financial Controller to their intelligent & diverse team.
The successful applicant will manage all aspects of accounting, tax and treasury alongside budgeting, modelling, forecasting and data analysis.
An overview of the key responsibilities for this diverse & career defining role are as follows:
- Ensuring the production of monthly management accounts
- Filing annual accounts and tax returns
- Overseeing weekly supplier payment runs
- Ensuring / improving internal controls
- Cash flow management
- Collaborating with colleagues, presenting ideas in a clear & well reasoned manner
- Overseeing tax compliance and managing the annual external audit and relationship with audit firm
- Managing the relationship with outsourced accounting and payroll partners
- Providing sound, insightful analysis on an ad-hoc basis to stakeholders; we are looking for a data hungry finance professional who is comfortable making decisions quickly (sometimes based on incomplete data) with confidence
- Assessing the financial impacts of proposed objectives
- Commercial finance and planning / scenario planning responsibilities, acting as a true business partner to the Board & Investors offering advice based on clear rational / good judgement
- Managing the financial relationship with suppliers & partners on an on-going basis
- Guiding the business financially as they enter a fund raising exercise
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant for this diverse & exciting Group Financial Controller role will be an engaging, dedicated qualified accountant who understands the nature of a data driven FinTech, who are driven by the user experience of customers.
We are eager to speak to Big 4 / Top 6 audit trained ACA qualified accountants, who have 2-8 years + experience of working in a B2C, ideally technology focused business.
The team at Profile Pensions is brimming with high performing, inquisitive individuals, so we are looking to enhance their team with another intelligent & engaging professional.
The successful candidate will have a 'front row seat' as the business embarks on a fund raising journey, and play a key role during an extremely exciting period of growth for the organisation. Therefore, we are eager to speak to confident, fluent communicators who are at ease advising a range of shareholders in a compact, agile SME environment.
Due to the size of the team, this role really does combine offering strategic, commercial advice with hands on, data investigation / analysis. The hierarchy relatively flat, so we are looking for high performing, astute & capable candidates who are at ease with a range of stakeholders.
The perfect Group Financial Controller for Profile Pensions will be a technically competent ACA who understands the drivers of a digital consumer business, where data management is key. Your colleagues will all be inquisitive, innovative & technology savvy individuals, so you will also have a naturally curious mind with a genuine interest in tech / using new tools to solve problems.
The business uses tools such as Data Studio; experience of using this is not essential, but we are looking for a strong accountant with an automation focused mentality, as this will be crucial to the success of this role.
Overall, you will be the key finance leader in the business, combining strategy, analysis, and technical finance responsibilities as you add value to the business during this exciting period of growth.

As such, Profile Pensions are willing to consider ACA qualified accountants with B2C industry experience with varying years of post qualification experience.
The salary offered will be reflective of this, with the banding ranging from £55,000 - £80,000.
It is all about finding the perfect blend of technical skill, commercial acumen, data interpretation & intellectual firepower. However, most importantly of all, the successful candidate will be a true collaborator with an engaging & natural communication style.
