Accountable Recruitment are representing an established and successful accountancy practice in Liverpool who are looking to appoint a Treasury Assistant on a full time and permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful practice whilst working in a friendly supportive and sociable environment. This role will initially be working from home but hybrid working will be implemented in the near future.

JOB TITLE: Treasury Assistant

JOB TYPE: Full time/ Permanent

SALARY: Up to £19,000

ROLE:

  • Banking of cash and cheques
  • Undertaking online payments
  • Perform Bank reconciliations
  • Liaise with Banks and the Insolvency Service regarding funds held
  • Meet cashier requirements in accordance with the firm's procedures
  • Ensure cashiers instructions are appropriately supported by documentary evidence
  • Attend to and resolve ad hoc enquiries that may be raised by partners and staff from time to time
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Carry out VAT reclaims/payments following de-registration
  • Perform electronic filing
  • Other duties to be undertaken as directed

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience of working in an accountancy practice with treasury experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good understanding of VAT is desirable
  • Knowledge of the Insolvency system IPS is desirable but not essential
  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Excel, other MS products and similar desktop applications. Willingness to learn new systems is essential
  • Well presented with a professional level of communication - both verbal and written
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision
  • 1-2 years' experience in cash book / treasury / cashiering is advantageous but not imperative
  • Role specific training is provided
