Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a rapidly growing, PE backed retail business in Chesterfield as they look to recruit a fully qualified Financial Controller.
Reporting into the Finance Director you will be working in a number 2 role, producing the monthly management accounting pack as well as supporting the FD in terms of driving business strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of two and will also provide sustained improvements across their financial control environment under IFRS.
The role is fundamental in providing accurate financial reporting, enabling the business to make decisions based on robust financial information during a period of change and growth.
Duties & Responsibilities will include:
*To oversee the finance function and to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time within reporting deadlines
*To give support and assistance to the team where necessary
*Production of Monthly Management Accounts along with variance analysis and commentary to present to the board
*Working with the auditors
*Budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting
*Margin analysis
*Bank, Nominal account and intercompany account reconciliations
*Management of fixed assets
*Processing VAT returns
*AP/AR ledger review, expense claims, credit cards reconciliation
*Approving payments, reviewing credit terms
*Work with stock take team to review and assist with processing bi-annual stock takes
*Ad-hoc project work and driving continuous improvement across the department
*Producing goals and business plan for the finance department
To be considered for this role you MUST have the following:
*Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
*Proven ambition and drive to help the business improve and initiate positive change
*Good financial reporting skills/ Knowledge of IFRS (Essential)
*Staff management experience
*Prior knowledge of working in a stock-based business
*To work at advanced level with Microsoft Excel
*Process and control improvement experience
*Keen eye for detail
*Staff management and leadership skills
*Strong Communicator
*Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
