Since inception over 5 years ago this diverse service sector business has been on a phenomenal growth journey. Founded by an ambitious group of seasoned entrepreneurs they operate in a niche sector and are currently attracting interest from the private equity community to fuel further expansion. To help facilitate this they would like to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to be responsible for group financial reporting and control, ensuring the numbers are robust and stand up to external scrutiny. You will be working along side a CFO with an excellent pedigree and will benefit from close mentorship and development as part of your career journey. Supported by a small team the Financial Controller role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Production of the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of  consolidated group accounts
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensuring accuracy of a high number of monthly transactions
  • Oversee all key control account reconciliations
  • Technical accounting queries
  • Managing the annual audit process
  • Completing VAT/PAYE and CT tax returns
  • AD hoc reporting as required by SMT
  • Improving and updating accounting systems

The ideal candidate for this would have a strong financial reporting and control background, preferably with some experience of group consolidation in a multi-entity environment. Strong Excel skills would be advantageous along with the ability to interrogate systems and produce meaningful analysis. You must also have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly gain credibility with your peers and key stakeholders. In return you will receive a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package along with the flexibility to work from home up to two days a week. Applicants to this role must ideally be ACA / ACCA or CIMA qualified and looking to join a fast moving business.
