Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently supporting a leading organisation as they look to bring on board a professional and highly experienced Group Ledger Controller to manage a credit team of collectors and a team leader along with the cash allocation team.
This is a newly created role, due to business growth & internal change and would be the ideal next move for someone with a strong background in credit control who can take ownership over the ledgers, resolve complex/escalated queries and provide extensive support to the wider team!
Duties & Responsibilities of the General Ledger Controller will include (but are not limited to):
* Reduce overdue debt
* Help the ledger team prioritise and manage workload
* Get into the detail to help solve problem accounts and invoicing issues
* Point of escalation for overdue debt and liaison with customers to resolve
* Manage individual and team performance, setting and monitoring appropriate measures
* Manage and develop the skills, thinking and performance of the team
* Highlight and fix systematic process issues affecting debt collections
* Ongoing review and improvement of systems and processes
Person specification:
* Intense focus on ageing of debt and simplifying the collections processes
* Significant and proven collections team management experience at a sizeable company
* Ability to be hands on in the detail and follow things through to completion
* Focus on performance measurement and improvement
* CICM qualification - desirable
* B2B credit control experience
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at varying levels internal/external to the organisation
* Ability to work with and influence management across the business to achieve business goals
*Full agile/flexible working offered*
