Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity is now available to join a national health care organisation based locally to Scarborough. This group has grown significantly over the past number of years and has ambitious plans to continue that growth.
My client is seeking a strong candidate who can lead the ongoing review and reconciliation of the balance sheets and can support Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial information with a view to ultimately taking responsibility for the preparation of their own accounts.

Reporting to the Financial Controller this role will involve:
*Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts information (including P&L, BS, cash flow analysis, KPIs, covenant monitoring, and ad-hoc business and financial analysis)
*Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
*Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
*Reconcile intercompany accounts
*Prepare the VAT return for review
*Maintain the fixed assets register (addition, disposal, depreciation and amortisation)
*Post monthly journals as require
*Assist with the preparation of the year end accounts and audit file
*Assist with payroll, tax and company administration tasks as required
*Assist with other projects or tasks as required from time to time

Ideally you will have :

*Skills in leadership and team management
*Experience of VAT partial exemption
*Experience of Sage
*AAT or relevant finance / accounting degree
