Search Consultancy are working exclusively with a charity based in East Lothian to recruit a Finance Officer role on a permanent basis. The charity is passionate about making a difference to the individuals that they support and work closely with the local community.

A vacancy has created a rare opportunity to join the back-office team at an exciting time in the organisation's development. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Finance Officer will provide a payroll service to staff and be responsible for ensuring invoices are raised and payments made on time. The overall purpose of the post is to work as part of a team to support the effective and efficient management of the organisation.


  • Ensuring that all invoiced are processed in line with the Charity's regulations
  • Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations and payments
  • Reconciling purchase and sales ledger accounts
  • Preparing monthly financial accounts for the business manager
  • Summarising annual income and expenditure
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual external audit
  • Preparing bank and cash schedules
  • Ownership and responsibilities of the Charity's payroll service
  • Support the management of HR where necessary


  • Bookkeeping/accounts assistant experience
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software
  • Experience in the public sector would be desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary will between the range of £25,000 - £27,500 plus benefits
