In this role you will will be expected to own and maintain the general ledger for all EMEA entities in Continental Europe (CE), whilst managing a team of 2 qualified accountants. 

Responsibilities will include;
  • Management of the CE General Ledger’s ensuring all applicable internal controls and policies are adhered to.
  • Assistance with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of robust month end processes and internal controls to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.
  • Coordination of month end tasks with direct reports and colleagues overseeing our CE entities to ensure all entities can meet the respective group period end deadlines.
  • Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliation files to a high standard in line with internal deadlines; including coordination of any issues which need resolving with the wider business.
  • Maintain the CE ledgers in accordance with group and statutory accounting requirements.
  • Preparation and review of year-end local statutory accounts in compliance with relevant local GAAP.
  • Assist with the interim and year end audit process with preparation of information for external auditors.
  • Management and coordination of payroll related costs with our third-party providers for ten entities.
  • Preparation and review of all indirect and direct tax return submissions and ensure payments are made to meet deadlines and submission of all necessary financial statistical returns.
  • Day to day coordination and delegation of admin related activities, compliance surveys and letters for our CE entities.
  • Promote a culture of best practice across EMEA by ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and sharing improved ways of working.
  • Identify and flag any issues promptly to the Financial Accounting Manager – EMEA including any risks or opportunities identified for the Companies.

About You
  • Recognised accountancy qualification (preferably ACA/ACCA) with at least 3 years PQE with appropriate technical competencies.
  • Experience in dealing with Continental Europe based entities.
  • Able to communicate across all areas of the business including non-financial colleagues.
  • Strong investigatory, analytical and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Work under tight deadlines within a small team and help others within the team wherever possible.
  • Proactive approach to work and a desire to streamline processes to increase productivity and efficiencies across EMEA.
  • Experience with D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) desirable but not essential.
