Senior Group Management Accountant
Location – North Manchester
Permanent £ - up to £45k
Full-time 8:30am – 4:30pm Mon to Thurs/8:30am – 3pm Fri
The overall purpose of this role is to assist and support the Group Financial Controller in managing daily finance operations, staff, and improving financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
This is not a traditional accountancy role – we want a candidate that can bring good business acumen, commercial curiosity and intellect. You must be comfortable engaging with the wider business, confident in challenging the status quo and passionate about succeeding in your career. Energy, good people skills and focus on performance delivery will be essential.

The overall purpose of this role is to assist and support the Group Financial Controller in managing daily finance operations, staff, and improving financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts within timely deadlines.
- Royalty reporting.
- Preparation of monthly board pack with detailed analysis and supporting data.
- Preparation and reconciliation of some balance sheet accounts in line with the month end timetable.
- Support Financial Controller with all statutory audit requirements.
- Support Financial Controller with preparation of all VAT returns and reconciliations.
- Coordinate the annual budget and regular forecasts working with department heads, with support from the Group FC.
- Work closely with Group Management accountants to support and cover during busy periods, absence and annual leave.
- Modelling & producing financial reports to support organisational objectives.
- Ad hoc requests from financial and senior management team
- Assist with submission of monthly ONS / other government surveys.
- Promote a continuous improvement approach to business policy and processes, implementing positive change.
- Provide support and cover for the Group Financial Controller as/when required.

- Essential - Strong IT literacy, with a high level of competency in Microsoft Excel in particular; vlookup/sumif/pivot tables minimum.
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of key business drivers
- Have worked in a similar Industry based role (not essential)
- Be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a 'can do’ attitude.
- Flexible and able to work on a variety of ad hoc projects.
- Strong organisational skills
- ACCA/ACA part qualified / qualified or CIMA within an industry environment
- Previous experience managing and completing budgets and forecasts.
