Client Details
This is a relaxed and friendly independent practice based in Oldham. With a wide variety of Tax projects to get involved in and the opportunity to work in close proximity to both clients and Partners, this role would be an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to make a genuine impact with their work on the businesses and lives of their clients
Description
The successful Tax Manager will be responsible for but not restricted to:
- Preparing both personal and corporate tax returns (the role is mostly Personal Tax focussed but there would be the opportunity to do Corporate Tax work too if desired)
- Providing both compliance and advisory services
- The candidate can expect to get involved in projects such as IHT planning, share exchanges, trusts, capital gains, allowances, property portfolios, car allowances, profit extraction, advisory planning work
- Working on a varied portfolio of clients such as OMB's, sole traders and company directors
- Dealing effectively and confidently with both clients and HMRC
- Ad Hoc projects and specialist cases such as tax investigation work
Profile
The successful Tax Manager will be:
- Be partly or fully CTA qualified (or potentially ACA/ACCA/ATT for a Tax Senior / Semi Senior applicant)
- Have the ability to draw upon a strong theoretical background and apply this to practice
- Have the technical know-how to review the work of other colleagues to ensure accurate completion
- Have a genuine can-do and ambitious attitude

- Market rate salary - circa £40,000 - £50,000 (£25,000 - £35,000 for Tax Senior / Semi Senior applicants)
