Our client is a precision engineering business producing vital components for the medical devices industry.  It is a strategic supplier to some of the largest,  global health care manufacturers and benefits from well-established and long term client and supplier relationships.  The business has recently taken on private equity funding and the investors are now looking to hire a CFO to work alongside the newly appointed CEO to partner him on a journey of value creation.  The business is poised for growth – both organic and via  potential bolt-on acquisitions, and there is work to be done in establishing robust systems, processes and controls to support these changes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of the finance function to include budgeting/forecasting/management and statutory reporting
  • Investor and other third party/lender  reporting/relationships
  • Establishing robust systems, processes and controls including introducing KPI’s
  • Cash management
  • M&A activities where appropriate as well as other ad hoc strategic and commercial input

This role will suit an experienced senior finance professional who ideally has some previous private equity experience but who, most importantly, is both able and willing to roll up his/her sleeves and be very ‘hands on’ where necessary, whilst also adding value in strategic and commercial decision making situations.

It is essential that candidates have some experience of the manufacturing sector. In addition very good communication and transformation skills are essential. This is a small organisation that is transitioning from founder ownership to investor led so  it is important that interested candidates appreciate the  likely cultural challenges over the coming months.  This is also an opportunity for the right individual to have a role where he/she can make a highly visible and positive impact on  an already very successful business.   The role is an office based role all be it part-time.

We are committed to encouraging and celebrating applicants from different backgrounds, whatever their gender, ethnicity, race, religious and political beliefs, education, socioeconomic background, disability, sexual orientation and geographical location to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
