Resourcery Group are recruiting a Stock Accountant role on behalf of a rapidly growing, international, manufacturing business in the Merseyside region.  With a UK-wide footprint and offices in several locations across the world, the Stock Accountant will be work for a truly international group, influencing stakeholders on a global basis. Working closely with the operations, supply chain and purchasing teams, sat in finance, the Stock Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller and will act as a conduit between finance and operations.

Based in a fairly central Merseyside location, the business is accessible from Chester, the Wirral, Liverpool, North Wales and Runcorn/Widnes/Warrington.  A rapidly-growing business, demand for goods and services during the pandemic has placed increasing pressure on supply chain and the need to be able to gain a clearer understanding costs and stock is more essential now than ever.  As the Stock Accountant, you will be responsible for multiple different product lines and SKUs and will be key in managing all aspects of stock control, possessing a full and detailed knowledge of stock levels and reconciliations, managing any variances.  This is a people-centric role and, as such, the need to business partner with all areas of business operations is of paramount importance.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and organised team player who has excellent attention to detail and is able to work to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create a landed cost data-set from scratch,
  • Take an active role in the development of new stock controls,
  • Liaise with global suppliers and perform reconciliations from budgets to invoices,
  • Prepare monthly stock provisions in line with group policy and identifying variances in stock ageing profile,
  • Liaising with stakeholders about stock accounting and associated financial regulations and procedures,
  • Drive operational excellence with the use of KPIs and reconciliations in the finance and operations team,
  • Assist the team with ad-hoc projects as required.

Applicants should:

  • Be experienced at working in a similar costing or stock-led role.
  • Be a Qualified accountant, studying towards an accountancy qualification, be Qualified By Experience.
  • Possess robust excel skills, capable of working with incomplete data and manipulating large volumes of data.
  • Possess robust senior stakeholder managment skills capable of liaising with both internal and external parties on a daily basis.
