Commercial Accountant

Axon Moore are working alongside a growing, fast paced Wholesaler and Manufacturing business based in Manchester. Due to a restructure, and continued growth despite the impact of coronavirus the organisation is looking for a Commercial Accountant to join in a newly created role.

The Commercial Accountant will report directly into the Finance Controller, an individual who has provided a clear pathway for progression having personally developed into their current role from a similar Commercial Accountant position.

The role will provide commercial support to various business units, providing financial controls and management reporting to support and develop sales and operations, whilst working with senior stakeholders to understand business performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support the generation of accurate period end accounts.
• Carry out monthly financial reviews with the operational and sales teams.
• Identify opportunity to increase margin and profitability.
• Provide insight into contract tenders, ensuring they are financially accurate and commercially robust.
• Preparation of budgets/forecasts in accordance with company requirements.
• Provide sales and costing analysis to relevant business units, supporting management with decision making.

Person specification:

• CIMA or ACCA Qualified with experience working in a manufacturing environment/ or exposure to costings.
• A proven ability to communicate with finance and none finance stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong commercial awareness, with a capability of interpreting financial data.
• Excellent excel skillset.
• A full driving licence and travel will be required; however this will be very occasional.
