Your new firm
A large, well established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bury are looking to expand their tax team with the appointment of a Tax Manager. This firm have been established for over thirty years and this is a newly created job opportunity to support the new business wins the tax team have experienced over the twelve months. Joining a tax manager you will be able to develop your team management skills overseeing a team. The firm will consider full time hours or part time hours of 4 days or 5 days with compressed hours.

Your new role
As a Tax Manager you will join a large, skilled and successful tax team which deliver all corporate and personal tax compliance and advisory projects for the general practice. As a Tax Manager you will be allocated your own portfolio of clients for which you will be responsible for delivering a range of advisory projects but as a manager you will also have responsibility for managing a bank of staff, ensuring compliance deadlines are met, mentoring the junior advisors on the team - reviewing their advisory work and providing guidance and support.

The Tax Team advise across a range of corporate and personal matters and the portfolio allocated to you will depend on your skill set. Common projects you may advise on include MBOs, EMIs, Share buy backs, R&D claims, Succession planning and IHT planning.

What you'll need to succeed
The firm are seeking an experienced CTA qualified Tax Advisor / Manager who can demonstrate a proven track record of managing their own client portfolio. You will ideally have a mixed skill set however the firm can mould the portfolio to suit a 100% corporate or 100% personal split of work. Taking on the management of more junior members of the team the partners are seeking a strong communicator who has excellent organisational skills and has ideally operated in a mentoring position previously.
