A brilliant SME in Leeds seeks the help of an experienced Accountant for an initial 9 month fixed term contract role.

As member of the Leeds-based EU Finance team, the role will be responsible for helping oversee key financial functions for the UK and European Divisions including all aspects of accounting, management reporting, financial controls and increased operational efficiency.

Key tasks will involve:

*Liaising with Finance teams in UK and Belgium to collate their local transactional information for upload into the groups accounting systems.
*Working with the local teams and external Finance professionals to produce month-end accounts/returns, including appropriate accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
*Liaison with the Group Finance team based in the USA to ensure corporate reporting deadlines are met, queries/variances are explained and processes are followed.
*Working with the local teams to collate, review and explain budgets, forecasts and business cases prior to their submission to Group Finance.
*Ensure key financial controls are maintained across the Divisions and that processes are constantly documented, reviewed and improved.
*Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts.
*Reviewing of VAT and Intrastat Returns.
*Annual stock-takes and responding to audit requests / requirements.

Ideally you will be either fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience and be able to demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to build relationships across international boundaries.

Flexible / remote working options are available and ideally, the client needs someone to start this role by the beginning of June so please only apply if you have the required skills and experience and you could start then at the latest.
