This role reports to the Group Finance Manager and works alongside the finance teams in the wider businesses. It is foreseen that this role can provide additional support to the wider finance team at busier times of the year.

Responsibilities of the role:

The position has primary responsibility for:

  • Assist in preparing the group consolidation
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of the VAT returns for the group
  • Cashbook & invoice postings
  • Set up of payment runs
  • Maintaining intercompany and related party matrices
  • Dealing with external audit queries
  • Supporting key stake holders within the organisation providing financial support
  • Ensure robust financial controls & processes are being followed
  • Preparation of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Participating in cross functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department
  • Invoice postings & transactional sales/purchase ledger work
  • Ad-hoc project work


  • AAT level 3 / 4 qualified or early stages of CIMA/ACCA
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 and Xero preferred
  • Keen to learn and develop with a 'can do' attitude
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
  • Able to prioritise work based on deadlines and importance
  • A proven problem solver - proactive in identifying business/financial issues, recommending solutions and in implementing agreed recommendations
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of role - consistently produces work to the highest standard
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and progress
