Job Title: Financial Risk Manager

Salary: £55,000 - c£65,000

OVERVIEW:

Are you a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant ideally with an Assurance background looking for a new challenge? This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking company in Hull offering both part remote working and flexible hours when in the office.

THE ROLE:

This is a newly created role to sit within the finance team of this innovative organisation.
*The successful candidate will have ownership of the company risk register and support senior management with the development of the business enterprise risk management policies
*Own the procedures and control frameworks around trading and treasury activities, including hedge accounting, whilst maintaining responsibility for the business trade capture tool that is used monitor the commodity positions on a real-time basis
*Act as the main day-to-day contact point with the front office traders and will work closely with the Commercial team, producing insightful risk reporting and analysis
*This role will provide the primary liaison with the Group Treasury Department of the company parent group
*Provide input and be a member of the weekly Financial Risk Committee and be an active member and coordinate the activities of the company Risk Management Committee
*Responsible for ensuring that all treasury management activities (including any authorised use of swaps, hedges and banking transactions) are properly performed in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the business and its parent group's treasury management policies
*The role will also advise senior management on FX risk transactions

THE CANDIDATE:

*You will be an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant preferably trained in professional practice and ideally with an Assurance background
*An exceptional communicator at all levels you are capable of forming strong working relationships with colleagues both locally and within the wider area of the business
*It is highly desirable to have a detailed understanding of basic derivative transactions, including OTC and exchange traded products and the associated control environments, an understanding of hedging, position limit and liquidity management
*Previous experience of leading improvement programmes will be beneficial
*You will have first class investigative and analytical skills combined with sound commercial awareness
