Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting an Graduate Accountant for a well-established and growing business. They are seeking an ambitious Graduate, ideally in Accountancy and Finance who are looking to progress and deveop as a Financial Accountant and be mentored by a qualified Financial Accountant as they progress through the CIMA/ACCA chartered Accounting Qualification.
As a graduate, you will be trained on the cash and banking elements, as well as some key financial accounting and reporting. You will become the point of contact for all cash related queries, working closely with purchase ledger teams and Management Accountants. You will be exposed to further dutiies in all areas of financial accounting, such as fixed asset management, IFRS, Tax and creditors and debtors.
Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for the cash book, ensuring this is reconciled and all journals are posted
- Monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Daily and weekly review of revenue and production of statements and invoices
- Balance sheet reviews, analysis and assisting with the monthly board pack
- Investigating queries and resolving accounting issues such as missed postings
- Carrying out inter-company transfers where required
- Posting journals in Sage 200
- Assisting with acquisitions
- Mailbox management
- Assisting with process improvement
- Assisting with month end close and reconciliations as well as annual audit and year end close
- Ad-hoc duties and support to the wider finance team
- Degree at 2:1 or above in Accounting and Finance or similar with a desire to pursue ACCA/CIMA
- Experience within a similar position is beneficial
- Intermediate excel skills such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables and experience using accounting systems. Sage 200 would be beneficial
- A personable character and someone who is driven and ambitious and keen to learn and develop while studying
- Strong planning and organisation skills essential
- Enthusiastic and self-motived
- Salary £20,000 – £22,000 depending on experience
- Full CIMA/ACCA study support with incremental pay increase achievable on completion of each exam
