Investigo are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a global, PE backed Hospitality company in their search for a Group Financial Controller. The role reports to the CFO with a close working relationship across the finance team and with direct involvement with the private equity ownership group.

About the role:

Working alongside the Group Head of Corporate Finance and the FP&A analyst, this role will lead the Property finance functions to deliver a best in class finance service to the business:

  • Deliver a full reporting cycle, establishing a robust process to deliver accurate timely results
  • Contribute to the forecasting cycle with the FP&A team to establish strong and accurate forward-looking forecast and budget projections (including cashflows)
  • Continuously review of current financial systems to ensure they are optimised and developed to improve efficiency and information
  • Ensure strong Financial Management and take ultimate responsibility for accurate accounting records for the properties, including local statutory accounts and tax returns in coordination with the corporate finance team
  • Review and update financial controls policies, including training to finance and key operational team members, and ensure they are adhered to and developed to meet changing business needs
  • Participate fully as a member of the management team, playing a wider role than purely the functional one, actively supporting the team in identifying and developing strategic options and plans which will allow the business to maximise its revenue and profit
  • Lead and motivate the central finance operational team and the finance teams based in the Properties in Europe and the US, to deliver high performance and develop a strong finance and people culture through continuous training and development
  • Working as part of the senior finance team during the annual audit process with the team aim to reduce external fees and meet filing deadlines for the Group
  • Work on ad hoc development and Company projects

To be successful in the role, you need:

  • Experienced ACA/ACCA/qualified accountant with 8+ years PQE
  • Significant operational hospitality experience gained in a sufficiently complex & geographically diverse business
  • The ability to work across the business to 'bring' the wider team to a new level of professionality
  • Extensive financial modelling experience producing high quality projections  Ideally transactional exposure
  • Happy to roll sleeves up and demonstrate a hands-on works style with understanding that role include peak time to meet reporting deadlines
  • High levels of attention to detail and ability to take full accountability for output produced
  • Highly motivated, proactive, self-starter, with the capability to spearhead and take full ownership over workstreams
  • Gravitas / capability to win confidence of a wide variety of prominent senior executives, investors, and external counterparties
  • Direct and indirect people & team management & leadership experience
