Accountancy Recruit are looking for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of a client who are based near Sutton Coldfield, North Birmingham. This is a permanent position, suited to someone who is looking to progress their career within accounts and develop within an encouraging organisation.
Working within a small, close knit accounts function, the successful applicant will be able to get involved in a variety of accounts tasks and support in a number of different areas.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining spreadsheets for the department
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing petty cash
- Working with sales / purchase ledger
- Supporting of accounts
- Managing the department's post
- Making bank payments
- Writing and handling cheques
- Liaising with all internal teams
- Reconciliation of finance accounts
- Following and using Accounts systems
- Providing administrative support to the team
- Working closely with individuals across the business at all levels
- Working with sales and purchase ledger
- Ad hoc admin duties
- Reconciliation of finance accounts and month end
- Payroll support
- Looking after the accounts for 2 companies using 2 systems
