Elevation Senior Finance are currently looking to recruit a commercially focused Financial Controller for an FMCG organisation based in Wakefield.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will vary depending on the needs of the business. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance team and you will have duties spanning all accounts areas, along with taking responsibility for the production of various reports.

My client is keen to find a confident and personable qualified Accountant with a passion for being involved in the wider business, driving the company forward and improving the processes and systems within. As a result, they are open to considering both experienced Financial Controllers and Managers who are ambitious and are looking to take the next step in their career as long as they have the gravitas and knowledge to be involved in the commercial and operational decision making which will shape the path the business takes over the next few years.

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Establish and maintain appropriate Manufacturing and Financial systems for measuring all necessary aspects of manufacturing and financial resource and development according to agreed budgets and KPI's
-Plan, develop and implement strategy for finance management and development
-Monitor, measure, and report on commercial issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
-Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, annual report and accounts
-Manage and develop direct reporting staff according to company procedures and policy
-Contribute to the evaluation and development of financial strategy and performance with the executive team
-Maintain lean, efficient and relevant operational, reporting, communication and planning systems
-Manage internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities
-Liaise with other departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of financial information and development, and to ensure they are fully informed of financial objectives, purposes and achievements

The successful Financial Controller will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal
-Experience of working in either the FMCG or Manufacturing sectors
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to work to tight deadlines
-Strong analytical and forecasting skills
-Strong technical accounting skills
-Clarity of vision and ability to drive change
-Effective team leadership skills
-Advanced Excel skills and experience of other financial systems
-Proven experience of financial and management accounting
-Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience
-ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
