MERJE are partnered with a Yorkshire based financial services business in their search for a Purchase Ledger Leader.

Have you a got a finance background and looking for a leadership role within a Finance function that is currently embarking on a digital transformation journey? Then this is the role for you. The Financial Control team is expanding and are looking for a Control Reconciliation and Purchase Ledger Leader to join the senior management team overseeing the control reconciliation activity.

The finance function is currently going through an incredible digital transformation and is amid implementing a world leading financial management tool that will streamline all financial activities. As both a leader and a technical subject matter expert you’ll play a key role in the success of the project.

We’ve adapted really well to home working during the current pandemic, so although Head Office is based in North Yorkshire, there would not be a requirement for you to be based their full time and high levels of home working can be accommodated.

Your new role:

  • Responsible for overseeing the Purchase Ledger, Financial Advice income recognition monitoring and reconciliations and mortgage and savings controls, ensuring robust controls, policies, procedures and segregation of duties are in place to maintain the Financial Control framework.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular within the distribution network and operation teams to understand where the control reconciliation team can add more value to support customer experiences and collaborate to find better ways of working together to reduce the query traffic and reconciliation items within the team.
  • Lead on driving forward these initiatives with the team of 8 that you’ll be leading, providing further opportunity for you to develop your coaching and broader leadership skills.

Our ideal candidate:

We’re looking for someone who not only has a finance or operational controls background but someone who will thrive at the opportunity to work alongside our finance transformation team to drive forward improvements to our processes, controls and reporting and preferably with leadership experience.

You’ll have relevant finance or operational controls experience and holding a finance qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / AAT) would be highly advantageous although not essential.

Experience working in financial services would be preferred.

Within the role you’ll be working in partnership with various business areas, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
