Financial Controller for a growing SME in Birmingham City Centre - QBE or Qualified - upto £55000

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working with a growing SME organisation based in Birmingham City Centre. The company are privately owned and work in the health care sector and have a network across the UK and internationally.

Your new role
The company have experienced strong growth over the last few years and as such would like to recruit their first Financial Controller. The role will report directly into the Managing Director and will be a very hands on role and will involve setting up the financial control and procedures internally which are currently being overseen by the Chartered Accountants. key duties include:

* Meet all reporting deadlines for the Group and related Companies
* Management and training of a small team
* Creating and implementing efficient recording structures for a multi group company.
* Oversight on accounting controls and processes and have attention to detail on improving the function
* Online bank payments and transfers
* Bank activities and reconciliations
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* VAT returns
* Collating management information
* Any other activities as required by management for the effective running of the business




What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a hands on SME Financial Controller with a proven track record setting up and running small and effective finance functions. Candidates can be either QBE or Qualified and have a strong knowledge of excel and also Sage.

What you'll get in return
This is a very exciting time to join the company and will be a pivotal role working closely with the Managing Director whilst the company continues to grow and develop. You will receive a salary up to £55000 plus benefits and bonus. The role will be office based in Birmingham city centre but will also require occasional travel.
