Following an internal promotion, Heyland Finance are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and hugely successful business close to the Warrington area as they look to appoint a final stage or Qualified Management Accountant into their busy accounts department.

The Management Accountant will support the Financial Controller in ensuring financial postings are accurately recorded within a controlled environment using clear, robust and well defined processes.

Main responsibilities:
*To prepare the month end balance sheet file for review by the Financial Controller, including all supporting evidence where appropriate.
*To review and reconcile the customer rebate liability account for all entities, linking in with Commercial Directors and the Commercial Admin team to obtain a thorough understanding of accruals. Ensuring that items are cleared down on a timely basis and that outstanding items are investigated to establish corrective actions required.
* To develop the GRNI process, liaising with the purchasing team and to perform ongoing monthly reviews of the main vendor GRNI account for all entities, linking in with group reports Ensuring that items are cleared down on a timely basis and that outstanding items are investigated to establish corrective actions required.
*To develop the freight GRNI process account and to perform ongoing monthly reviews of the Freight GRNI account for all entities. Ensure that items are cleared down on a timely basis and that outstanding items are investigated in conjunction with pre-invoice postings.
*Complete monthly reconciliations of other selected balance sheet accounts for review with the Financial Controller, investigating any differences and taking corrective actions.
*Review posting documents, ensuring that correct coding is used in accordance with group policy and that sufficient information is recorded within the financial systems to accurately identify the nature of the transaction for Corporation Tax and budgetary control purposes.
*Co-ordinate quarterly intercompany reconciliations with other group companies, using the group IC online tool
*Support the Financial Controller and other members of the financial management team with ad hoc analysis.
*Ensure efficient and effective use of the financial accounting computer systems, assist in the development of internal financial procedures and controls in conjunction with the other members of the finance management team, and ensure compliance with polices as instructed by group internal audit.
*To positively participate as a member of the finance management team and attend regular meetings at other sites/third parties as and when appropriate.
*To ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
*To have a flexible approach to work.
*To attend training courses as and where necessary to ensure personal and team skills are up to date with legislative and business developments.
*To be aware of the Health & Safety requirements, in accordance with guidelines as set out in the Health & Safety manual.

Knowledge & Experience:
*Professional accountancy qualification - Minimum AAT qualified.
*Experience of both management and financial accounting.
*Experienced in the demands of a large, complex business.
*Experienced in dealing with a high volume of intercompany transactions.
*Strong interpersonal skills.
*Positive attitude to change.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills including an ability to explain financial issues to non-financial staff.
*Highly numerate with demonstrable analytical skills.
*Strong management reporting skills.
*IT skills including Excel, Word, SAP.
