The Business Manager will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the firm, and the use of software applications to ensure the greatest possible efficiency between now and in the future.

This position will play a key part in building and maintaining relationships with the Board of Directors, Team Heads and Software Providers to ensure smooth delivery of process improvements and efficiency across the business.

Our client are a Charted Accountancy firm based in Southampton providing services of Audit, Accounting, Tax and Corporate Advisory across a wide range of clients. The firm prides themselves on delivering services to their customers which maximise performance and profit, and help businesses to run more effectively in the long term.

A new position has arisen to welcome on board a Business Planning Manager into the team on a full-time permanent basis, reporting to the Managing Director.

Description


Reviewing systems and processes in use by each practice area and identifying areas for improvement in efficiencies and/or effectiveness and ensuring that applications are being used consistently across the firm

Optimising the use of our software and reviewing and making recommendations about alternatives ensuring that training programmes are in place

Producing strategic plans for systems changes and presenting them to the board and project management of any change process

Cost monitoring and oversight across all practice overheads, carrying out market research and presenting alternatives to the board

Compliance reporting to regulators (ICAEW, UK200, PII, H&S, AML, GDPR etc.)

Facilities/ equipment management - ensuring that the practice has adequate resources to operate effectively and efficiently. Managing any change projects relating to facilities/ equipment.

Management of administration team

Ensuring client/visitor experience of contact with the firm is appropriate (car park, reception, meeting rooms, office facilities, telephone calls etc.)

Profile

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a business / practice manager role, ideally in a professional practice (Desired)
  • Self-motivated, proactive, approachable and capable of working with minimal supervision within a team
  • Experienced in delivery of change projects
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of learning, understanding and documenting systems and processes assessing weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Successful implementation of proposals
  • A familiarity with the higher-level use of Microsoft 365
