Marks Sattin is recruiting for an Assistant Technical Accountant to join the Treasury Reporting team where you will be involved in the production of internal and external accounts.

This is a great chance for someone who is currently working ion Treasury and focusing on the technical elements around the key accounting policies, processes and judgements. This includes responsibility for running the hedge accounting and special purpose vehicle (SPV) accounting processes.

Stepping in to the role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing a knowledge and understanding of hedge accounting concepts, including understanding the applicable accounting standards (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Produce monthly hedge accounting entries, reconciliations and posting of accurate and timely journals as well as prepare hedge accounts reporting.
  • Draft narrative sections, prepare notes and support for the Annual Report & Accounts and Interim Financial Report.
  • Provide external auditors with assistance by supplying information as requested and resolving issues as they arise, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulatory rules and guidance applicable to the role.
  • Maintain required standards of the Conduct Rules at all times in accordance with prevailing regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain full awareness of and conformance to the Risk Management Framework including but not limited to the Information Security and Data Governance supporting frameworks.


Ideally you will be:

  • Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA. ACCA or CIMA) and have a passion to continue this development
  • Exposure to Hedge accounting is extremely advantageous
  • Curious about accounting standards and how to apply these in practice across specialist areas
  • Wiling to embrace and implement change
