Finance Manager

This position is with an established organisation that provides services to the healthcare sector in North Manchester. Based at their main office in Bury the role will involve supporting a part time Finance Director and recently appointed CEO who is looking to drive the business forward.

This is a new role with the objective to improve reporting, set up accounting systems and generally modernise the finance function. The ideal candidate would preferably have some form of accountancy qualification and must be able to demonstrate previous experience managing and improving an SME finance function. The key responsibilities will be:

•    Prepare budget statements for the board and primary care networks
•    Report financial performance with analysis of income & expenditure
•    Manage month end processes and produce management accounts
•    Prepare progress reports, forecasts and manage cashflow
•    Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support new initiatives
•    Oversee payroll preparation and processing
•    Maintain sales, purchase ledger, credit control, bank recs etc.
•    Support compliance and drive good practice

Previous experience of Xero would be ideal although not essential but you should have experience of using and improving accounting software to suit the evolving needs of a small business. The position will involve working closely with variety of colleagues and in particular undertaking different projects as directed by the senior management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be essential along with a flexible approach and desire to give an excellent service to the rest of the business.
