A growing business that is part of a wider Group that is based in Sheffield, has an outstanding opportunity for a practice trained Accountant to join in a Group Financial Controller role reporting directly into the CFO. This is a high level role, that will widely expose the individual to the C-Suite and the wider group meaning that the individual will require plenty of confidence and gravitas.
The main purpose of the Group Financial Controller is to support the Group CFO in ensuring strong accounting and reporting throughout the group, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and risk management processes. The role is responsible for preparing internal consolidated financial accounts and their reporting and taking a lead role in the preparation of all external regulatory and financial reporting and budget and forecasts preparation. The role also requires the provision of strategic financial information and advice to the Executive Directors and Divisional Senior Management Teams.
The role will be involved with some exciting new projects that are heavily linked within sustainable markets - that could propel the business onto the cusp of major growth. This is a manufacturing business that is at the forefront of it's sector, meaning whoever takes this position is joining at exactly the right time.
We are looking for a Practice trained Accountant, ideally from a top 10 firm. Experience working within a bigger business or a Group style organisation is ideal. You will be working under a CFO with a commercial background - and they will be looking to impart their knowledge and experience onto you. Progression could come in the form of a Divisional FD role or the successor to the CFO, and the ideal candidate is someone looking for progression over the next 3-4 years of their career.
Whilst the role is based on the outskirts of Sheffield, there is only a need for office work 2 days a week, so there is plenty of scope for someone coming from Leeds or Nottingham.
