FINANCE DIRECTOR, FMCG

Our client is a market leading food and drink producer in the UK and part of a very large privately owned international group. To replace the retiring incumbent, work closely with the MD and be part of the forward-thinking executive leadership team, our client seeks to attract the best possible Finance Director.

The new Finance Director (FD) will be a UK qualified accountant and have proven financial leadership experience of a business unit at a large manufacturing or production company.

You will be an exceptional accountant, hands-on with company finances and commercially aware, advising on the best path of growth for the business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Form a close working relationship with the UK Leadership team and European parent company:

• Management and responsibility for the Finance, Administration and IT activities, systems and processes
• Lead and maintain the financial management and accounting function for the UK business

• Provide leadership to the UK and German leadership teams to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position
• Contribute fully to the development of Company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
• Embrace new IT and advise the business of the benefits of improved systems and data collection.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Qualified accountant or similar qualification
• Proven successful financial leadership experience with involvement in wider company administrative functions and departments
• Business or business unit leadership experience, one with a manufacturing or production site
• Ideally finance leadership of a business unit of a large manufacturing company
• Comprehensive understanding of Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Audit and Tax requirements.

LOCATION OF THE ROLE:

Bedfordshire.
