The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, ideally with large practice experience and will be able to demonstrate extensive team management/development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the wider finance team in relation to accounting standards and technical updates
- Support the financial reporting team in their CPD and technical development
- Manage relations with the auditors and oversee the interim and year-end audit work
- Review statutory accounts and ensure IFRS compliant
- Responsibility for reviewing the monthly management accounts, ensuring they are both accurate and meet the needs of the business
- Oversee the preparation of all quarterly and year end consolidated statutory accounts and supporting documentation is prepared to a high standard for review
- Ensure a strong control environment and improvement culture is embedded across the finance team.
- Build excellent working relations with the primary banks and funders
- Oversee the production and maintenance of the Group’s 3year cashflow and balance sheet plan
- Oversee the management of the company’s foreign currency requirements, including provision of accurate and timely information
- Ensure the business’ FX hedging strategy is being implemented and manage relations with FX providers.
- Responsible for the cashflow management of the business, including;
- Production of the annual cashflow forecast
- Ensure effective systems and processes are in place to support the business
- Embed culture of continuous improvement and standardisation within the Transactional Teams
Key Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ideally ACA with audit experience).
- Experience of managing and developing large diverse teams
- Strong technical skills including IFRS
- Good communication and business partnering skills
- Commercial awareness including knowledge of financial markets (debt and currency markets).
- Experience of preparing consolidated accounts and statutory reporting
- Financial modelling skills
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
- Self motivated and proactive individual
- Ability to and experience of working to tight deadlines
