Finance Manager Opportunity - Colchester - £40,000 to £45,000 plus benefits Part of a larger group

A specialist design and manufacturing business, part of a larger group, based on the outskirts of Colchester are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to manage finance, help drive efficiency and provide timely and quality management information and analysis to provide decision support to the board as the business enters an exciting period of growth.


Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director and the Group Finance Director

Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop an Accounts Assistant
Review and development of processes, controls and IT systems
Production of monthly management accounts within group reporting time lines
Balance sheet reconciliations
In conjunction with the senior management team, produce a complete yearly forecast for the business.
To ensure the sales ledger is accurate at all times and that credit accounts are within terms.
To ensure the purchase ledger is accurate at all times and that suppliers are paid within agreed terms.
Reconcile all bank accounts daily, including invoice financing facility.
To produce and monitor forecast cashflow, managing the cash position to avoid any cash shortfalls.
To prepare VAT/CIS returns quarterly and report to HMRC.
Ensure that wages records are accurately maintained, and that the payroll is processed in time for payment. Provide any information required by the senior management team to ensure the business aims are met.

Additional Responsibilities
To assist with all financial filing and archiving, ensuring the information is methodically stored and easily retrievable.
Prepare any other information at the request of the Managing Director/Group Finance Director.

What you'll need to succeed
The Finance Manager will be a Qualified Accountant, looking to move into the commercial sector from an accountancy firm or from the commercial sector.
They will have a good eye for detail and a keen interest in business
They will be a Team Player and can demonstrate enthusiasm and a "can do" approach to all aspects of the role.
The Finance Manager will be a confident communicator, orally and written, able to liaise at all levels with customers and colleagues
They will have good IT skills including Excel to an intermediate/advance level and interest in process improvement and IT development.
