Financial Reporting Manager | London | From £70,000 - £90,000 per annum + benefits | Business Services / Property / Housing
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Reporting Manager will assume full ownership of both Group and statutory reporting including the coordination of tax computations and FCA requirements.
The successful candidate will also need to lead, mentor and manage the Reporting team which consists of 3 direct reports.
Financial Reporting Manager Responsibilities:
- Delivery and preparation of Group reporting within a tight timeframe and in an accurate manner
- Full ownership of all aspects of the Balance Sheet, including full reconciliations
- Delivery of Company annual statutory reporting and overseeing the production of financial statements for the investment management company
- Liaising with auditors in relation to year end and filings within deadlines
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and practices (IFRS and FRS), Group Accounting Manual and other regulatory accounting guidelines (especially full compliance with FRS 101 and IFRS 9, 15, 16)
- Regulatory and capital reporting and be the central point of contact for such queries (FCA and ICAAP)
- Developing policies and procedures that improve existing practices and strengthen internal controls, especially ensuring suitable controls are implemented to ensure all legal entity reporting/documentation is accurate
- Provide necessary support on M&A/Corporate Finance/hedging activities which the company undertakes
- Company cash flow management, monitoring and cash flow forecast
- Perform impairment analysis under IAS 36
- Pension and Company tax matters
- Developing and mentoring junior staff, sharing expertise with colleagues and driving change
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified finance professional (ACA or ACCA)
- Significant experience in leading the production and delivery of financial reporting
- Proven ability to lead, manage, coach and develop a team
- A confident, proactive, dynamic, ‘hands on’ and ‘can do’ attitude is essential
- A robust and resilient personality able to cope with significant change; work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines
- A proven track record of quickly building and maintaining key internal stakeholder relationships
- Experience working with and influencing financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Passionate, motivated, proactive and flexible attitude
- Attention to detail and high level of numeracy
- Good listener who consults with others where necessary
- Capable of communicating clearly both in writing and verbally
- Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
