A financial accountant role with an e-commerce business based near Heathrow. Start date: 1st November

Your new role

• To assume responsibility for US GAAP, statutory accounting, external tax and VAT reporting
• External Audit support & VAT preparation support
• Technical accounting for recognition of different revenue streams across multiple marketplaces across Europe
• Project work in set up of new revenue channels

Financial Accounting

• Be responsible for the production of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for Direct to Consumer (D2C) business

• Prepare final balance sheet reconciliation and monthly package files identifying points for discussion and resolution
• Prepare or review and approve journals ensuring the calculation is accurate and supporting documentation is of auditable quality

• Review of all clearing, accrual & prepayment accounts to ensure that accounts used are regularly cleared
• Be the point of contact for Financial Planning / Local Finance
• Ensure reporting templates are in line with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures

Statutory accounting

• Support markets in the preparation of statutory accounting across Europe.
• Ensure the Statutory Accounts are reconciled to y-e reporting templates and reviewed & approved by local management

VAT, Corporate & local taxes

• Support the preparation of VAT returns / Intrastat / EC Sales list and other taxes return for various markets on request
• Ensure reporting for D2C follows Corporation Tax guidelines across Europe
• Ensure transfer pricing documentation is up to date and maintained

Audit & SOX

• Assume responsibility for y-e audit for D2C accounting. Liaise with SSPs, auditors and resolve queries.
• Assume responsibility for the SOX controls including implementation of remediation plans, in line with agreed timetables
• Take responsibility in ensuring all necessary Corporate processes are followed.

Projects

• Assume responsibility for accounting for expansion of revenue streams across Europe which will be launched at the end of 2021.
• Design and support the accounting for new D2C streams across Europe.

Other

• Ensure the appropriate skills and competencies are demonstrated and provide support and challenge to SSPs to consistently achieve that level
• Actively seek and support new methods of working, driving efficiencies in streamlining processes
• Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller/Manager
• Support the projects as required.

What you'll need to succeed
Qualified Accountant- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar
Experience of financial accounting and reporting for a company with turnover in excess of £50 million
Experience of working with "big data"

What you'll get in return
Flexible working options available hours which can be compressed to allow an early finish on Friday.
Currently WFH. Will move to a hybrid structure
Salary £50,000
Bonus 10%
