Group Financial Accountant - FP&A - Colchester/Hybrid 50/50 Competitive salary plus bonus & benefits

We are pleased to be working exclusively with a highly innovative, sustainable, manufacturing and technology group to recruit a talented qualified accountant to join the business as Group Financial Accountant - FP&A.
The role is based at their offices near Colchester, Essex and is hybrid 50/50.

Your new role
Working as a key member of the Group Finance team, directly supporting the global Director Financial Planning and Analysis, this role is pivotal in the monthly and annual reporting cycles. Involvement will include monthly review of entities' performance; reporting Group performance to board and banks; involvement in the monthly consolidation process; annual IFRS statutory reporting and audit; holding company oversight.

Key responsibilities

  • Monthly process upload
  • Review and analysis of entity submissions and narratives
  • Review of inter-co charges and Group inventory adjustments
  • Review monthly cash flow submission and consolidation
  • Consolidation adjustments and group reserves reconciliations
  • Review and support creation of group balance sheet and cash flow
  • Post entries for various Group Holding companies
  • Providing support with technical queries from entities
  • Monthly reporting to shareholder
  • Prepare monthly management reports and KPI's
  • Write commentaries for group P&L and KPI's
  • Maintain rolling forecast at group level
  • Ad hoc analysis and review as required


Monthly Board and Bank Packs

  • Prepare slides for bank and board packs including commentaries and adhoc slides as required


Year-end Process

  • Supporting Group Finance &Tax wherever necessary


Budgets and Forecasts

  • Prepare reporting timetables and instructions to ensure smooth process
  • Review entity inputs for budgets and forecasts
  • Conceptualize and create standardized output packs for the group
  • Oversee consolidation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring eliminations and consolidation entries are complete
  • Running budget / forecast outputs such as management and KPI pack
  • Directly support functional heads to analyze costs and evaluated savings potential
  • Run the system processes maintaining versions to track changes throughout the process


Other Technical Areas

  • Technical projects such as acquisitions, disposals and PPA
  • Adhoc financial reporting questions and research as required
  • Advise and provide business support to international local finance colleagues to improve processes


What you'll need to succeed
The Group Financial Accountant - FP&A will be a qualified accountant with good technical knowledge including consolidation and IFRS, excellent analytical skills and have a keen interest in business.
They will have strong IT skills with Excel to an advanced level and an interest in process improvement and IT and MI development.
A knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Databases and consolidation reporting tools such as TM1/Crystal/Cognos/Hyperion/HFM is desirable.
The Group Financial Accountant -FP&A will be a team player,with the ability to work flexibly and under pressure. They will be an excellent communicator able to liaise at all levels.
