Financial Accountant

A Fantastic Opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join a highly respected, growing business based in Manchester City Centre.

Due to the success and exciting future plans of the business they were require a Financial Accountant to join an established finance team.

The Role

1. 1. Overall duties include:

• Prepare financial statements for internal (monthly management accounts) and external use (annual statutory accounts). This will include full monthly P&L and balance sheet information ensuring integrity throughout the year of the financial position, including full balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with preparing external Group reporting
• Full balance sheet reconciliation controls
• Maintenance of cash controls
• Responsible for accruals and prepayments for overhead cost centres and all month end journals
• Assist with annual audit
• Assist with US sales tax compliance

 

1. 2.  Day to day duties relating to the administration and monitoring the financial system [QuickBooks] in order to ensure that the Company finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner include:

• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into Quick Books Accounting System
• Maintain all financial files and records
• Maintenance of accounts payable and accounts receivable including:
  • Review of ledgers and entries to ensure correct postings
  • Reconciliation of ledgers as appropriate
  • Other:
    • Ensure security for all credit cards and verify charges credit card data entry done elsewhere
    • Quarterly VAT return preparation and submission

 

1. 3.      Perform other related duties as required.

• Checking monthly commission claims
• Identify and deliver ad-hoc projects that will benefit the Company

Skills and Qualifications:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• The ability to work with initiative
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
• Proficient in excel and data analysis
• Accuracy and an eye for detail.
• Month end accounts
• Working to deadlines
• CIMA or ACCA or ACA qualified
