An interim Management Accountant role for a leading Legal Firm in Manchester, for 6 months.

Your new role
As an experienced Management Accountant you will have ownership and responsibility for the delivery of various reporting packs including; Management Accounts, Budgets and Forecasts. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to work within a dedicated finance team where you will: Have ownership and production of monthly Divisional Management Accounts and associated reporting packs. Prepare monthly analysis of overheads, ensuring all costs are allocated correctly and rolling forecast updated through regular meeting with internal stakeholders. Act as main contact for Finance Business Partners and assist in the analysis of divisional results, providing ad-hoc analysis as appropriate. Implement action points from divisional Monthly Review Meeting feedback. Assist with the preparation of annual subsidiary and Group Statutory Accounts. Liaising with subsidiary and Group auditors and providing relevant documentation and responses to queries. Assist in the preparation of overhead budgets and forecasts, and the forecasting of balance sheet and cash flows. Oversee preparation of and review of the daily cash flow forecast model. Oversee preparation of and review of the VAT submissions for each territory. Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with the development and training of the function's trainees. Assist all other areas of the Financial Control Team as appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant or finalist, with sound commercial awareness with the ability to apply financial principles effectively in a business environment to support key stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and excellent organisational and time management skills with experience of meeting targets and deadlines. You`ll have strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel. SQL would be desirable, but isn`t essential. High level of attention to detail with significant emphasis on quality of work. A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and pro-actively in a fast paced and changing environment to support the team in delivering results.
