About the Company

They are a Kent based housing association providing homes and services to their local communities.  Established in 2004 following the transfer of homes from Maidstone Borough Council, they have invested more than £150m in regenerating their homes and neighbourhoods. Today they manage over 7,500 properties and provide a home to more than 21,000 people. They are committed to developing high quality new homes for social, affordable and market rent, shared ownership and market sale.

Their vision is to provide outstanding services, great homes and have proud communities.

Background

They are keen to enhance their Audit and Assurance Committee and would like to recruit an Independent Member - Audit and Insurance Committee. They are looking for an individual who aligns with their new values, ways of working, and is aligned to their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion vision. They welcome and embrace diverse talent and are committed to their colleagues working flexibly and building a healthy, vibrant and inclusive organisation that treats people with respect and creates opportunities for all.

As a Board they have undertaken an assessment of the skills and diversity they possess to ensure the first-class governance of their business. They now have a smaller Board composed of high-quality Board members working constructively with their Executive team. They are recruiting for an Independent Member of the Audit & Assurance Committee. (The independent member does not sit on the parent board of Golding Homes.)

What you will be doing

You will be building and maintaining effective and constructive working relationships with other members of the Committee, the Chief Executive, Director of Finance and Corporate Resources and other members of the Executive Team. You will be attending Committee meetings (minimum quarterly), away days, training sessions and other events as required. They would like you to bring your independent view and insight as an independent member of the Audit and Assurance Committee through your own knowledge and experience of corporate financial management, audit and corporate accounting.

Their priority continues to be to provide safe and secure homes for our residents in places where they choose to live.

More about you. What can you bring?

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking for their first Board role or an already experienced Board member. They are looking for a person with the skills but also passion for their values. You will have a high level of numeracy skills, attention to detail, combined with financial awareness having the ability to analyse performance, financial and other information. You will be IT literate and comfortable with handling, analysing and prioritising large amounts of complex data. You will have the willingness and ability to challenge constructively and hold the Committee and Executive Team to account.

What you will get in return

Golding continues to embrace agile working for all colleagues. You will be attending Committee meetings (minimum quarterly), away days, training sessions and other events and will earn a remuneration of £3500 per annum.
