My client a PE backed organisation based in Ross on Wye have a fantastic opportunity for a Group Head of Finance Operations and Controls to join their warm, professional and dedicated finance team.

We are looking for someone with experience of running the operational finance function, with key emphasis placed on the financial control environment, cash management and transactional finance, which provides a strong environment to enable the provision of accurate financial information to multiple stakeholders.

The successful candidate will reporting the Group Financial Controller, working closely across finance and the business to ensure the needs of the business are met. The role will lead a team of finance professionals.

About the role

As Head of Finance Operations and Controls, you will be responsible for;

• Delivering a strong internal controls environment and compliance procedures surrounding the transactional finance activities of the Group which adhere to regulation, best practice, instil financial discipline and safeguard the Group's assets.
• Continuous review of internal controls and procedures to ensure adequate financial and non-financial checks and balances are in place to safeguard validity of the balance sheet.
• Create a 'no surprises' culture / master timetable for deliverables of the transactional finance team.
• Management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function.
• VAT compliance and reporting.
  

About you

As Head of Finance Operations and Controls, you will;

• Have significant experience in leading teams in areas of finance controls, compliance and transactional finance activities.
• Have experience in management accounting, including project accounting.
• Have experience in cash flow management and forecasting.
• Be a Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification experience.
• Be a successful leader, with the ability to lead, develop, coach and motivate a team.
• Be a clear communicator with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
• Have excellent problem solving & decision making skills, who is able to apply a common sense, pragmatic and practical approach.
• Be highly motivated, collaborative and results driven.
